Location

Beaty Centre for Marine Biodiversity is located in Dalhousie University’s Steele Ocean Sciences Building at 6375 Edzell Castle Circle, Halifax. There are no food services or designated lunch areas available within the centre. To protect the aquarium exhibits, food is not permitted in or around aquarium spaces. Drinks are allowed only if they are in bottles with secure lids

Parking & Transportation

Please note that we do not have a designated parking lot.

Free on-campus parking is available on weekdays after 4:30pm and all day on weekends. Visitors should avoid parking in any spots marked 'reserved'. See Studley Parking Map.

2-Hour street parking is located on Oxford Street during weekdays and 24-hours on weekends. Please note that we do not have a designated parking lot.

Halifax Transit Routes 1 and 24 have stops within walking distance of the Beaty Centre. Routes 4 and 10 stop at the Student Union Building, which is a short walk to Beaty Centre.

Accessibility

Wheelchair Accessible: Visitors who need a wheelchair are recommended to bring their own as Beaty Centre does not have a wheelchair on-site.

Pets or Service Animals: No pets allowed. Registered service animals with identification are allowed.

Changing Tables: Beaty Centre has accessible and gender neutral washrooms. The baby changing table is available on Level 1. Breastfeeding is allowed throughout the facility; however, there is no private space available.

Strollers & Wagons: Strollers and wagons are allowed and encouraged. Space to store is unavailable.

Multilingual: Our exhibits are available in Mi’kmaq, English, and French.
